We Are Not Alone….Angels Are Walking With Us
For George Popovici, an award-winning safety engineer who had it all in the prime of his life, the people who appeared in his life as angels
offered him hope in the midst of his despair as he searched for answers to a mysterious illness that had ripped away the perfect health he'd enjoyed all of his life.
After a desperate eight-year search to find out why he had fallen so ill,
and after seeing 42 physicians, George finally discovered that he was suffering from late-stage Lyme Disease... often misdiagnosed as ALS, chronic fatigue syndrome or multiple sclerosis.
In the process, he met Maureen Hancock, who told him that there was a
purpose behind the illness: he was to bring together stories of hope and healing to inspire people who are desperate and ready to give up hope.
He realized that his suffering was part of God's plan to encourage him to reach out to others who were in need of help.
Angels Walking With Us tells the story of George's quest for answers
and treatment for a disease which affects hundreds of thousands the world over. His courage and persistence allowed him to meet and collect
stories about divine interventions, miracles, and phenomenal healings from the many people who gave him hope over the course of his illness.

months. She still wears hearing aids at the age of 10. Katie is now a thriving young lady.

God and his Angels are always around you, protecting you and sending messages. We often become "too close" and "involved" with our lives to see the true meaning
of why we are here and what are mission and purpose is on earth. We tend to ignore signs and signals that are very much present in daily life that continually reassure us that:
God is real.
Life events are a mystery.
Never lose hope.
With hope, and prayer, miracles can happen.
I was one of those people who was too busy and wrapped up in my own agenda to
consider being "aware" of my spiritual surroundings. Although I went through the motions to be good and help or serve others as an Altar boy, Eagle Scout,
Emergency Medical Technician, Court Officer, Volunteer Firefighter, Coach, Safety Engineer, just plain old good and helpful person, etc. I NEVER was able to deeply
connect with those who lacked faith and belief. That all changed when I fell to the bottom.
I was 46 years old... I had it all. Great health, three outstanding children, successful
parents and siblings, a gorgeous home, financially rock solid, fantastic career and good close friends. One might say I was the example of human success in the
framework of today's modern industrialized society. Then in the autumn of 2005 I suddenly became very ill. In the spring of 2006 my blood was clotting and I
developed a pulmonary embolus in my left lung. Doctors asked me to ensure I had
a medical proxy at the ready. The picture was very grim. Since that time I have experienced seven hospitalizations, scores of tests
and procedures at the finest medical centers in the nation, spending nearly $350,000.00 of my own money to become well. I
continue to lose my eyesight, hearing, senses of touch, taste and smell as a result of continuing nervous system damage caused by
advanced neurological Lyme disease, this rare, elusive killer disease that affects thousands of people all over the globe.
I had no idea whatsoever that my life would be completely "flipped upside down" thereby giving me the "gift" of understanding who I
truly am and what my mission is in this world. Belief that you have a purpose and that you are never alone is key.
My book is about believing. It is best summed up in this bible verse: "Walk by faith and not by sight." 2 Corinithians 5:7.
